*20 years
Jimmy’s guitar looks like Steve Morse”s guitar and he sounds like him …
no slag just observation great jam. Todd is the bomb
gtrcoach, how do you feel about jimmy’s playing with widespread panic as of
late? his days with jazz is dead have to be my personal favorite, but damn
this video is still hot as hell!! nice work.
Soooo awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
love how casual they look to when they play.
You’re referring to Jimmy Herring…in a few recent interviews Morse cites
Herring as one of his favorite players right now. Since then Jimmy’s played
in bands with Dreg members and built quite the reputation for himself.
Everything’s come full circle.
Damn. Just Damn.
thats just comfirms that jimmy is a guitar god
Gotttt DAYHUM!!
Amazing!
i bet jimmy would have never thought that in 30 years he would be the
guitar player for the grateful dead lol
Oh my God! where can I buy a copy.
Beautiful playing!!! Beyond incredible!
WOOOOOOOOOOO thats some hott pickin. love these guys
This is some incredible playing! The only thing that I would like to add is
that I’m not too crazy about the sound of the guitarist on the right of the
screen. The reverb and sustain doesn’t really do this masterpiece justice,
but he is a master nonetheless!! Amazing chops…both of these guys.
A true clinic on combining awesome technique with great musicality.
Not sure there is a copy for sale anywhere. I think we recorded it as a
year end project for GIT in 1985. I probably have a cassette with the song
in it somewhere in my closet. Steve Trovato and I recorded it some years
later and it was on the MI “The Monsters Are Here” teacher compilation demo
tape. Finally , Steve recorded it and put it on his first album called
“About Time”. That CD probably is available.
Love the chicken picking
this shit kicks ass
Jimmy was WAY into Morse at this point. He sounds too much like a Morse
clone and has since found his voice I think.
kudos to Jimmy for not changing his look in 20+ years…its all about the
guitar playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to know those scales anyone want to share???? Peace
Listen to all that reverb and delay!! Love this guy!
Jimmy is fantastic even 23 years ago, and he cites Steve Morse as an
influence. He studied at Berklee and G.I.T. I saw Jimmy with Project Z
standing right in front of him and he just killed. I’ve seen Steve Morse at
least 20 times through the years, and Steve is a MASTER composer, i can’t
think of any rock based guitarist that can touch him in that department,
Jimmy is a monster improviser, both guys are top shelf musicians. Todd’s a
badass guitarists too, very melodic and great phrasing.
The long haured guy looks like Jim Morris from Detroit but sounds like
Steve Morse!! Thanks for posting this! bc
