Still the best chicken house on Youtube! No joke. Sept. 19th is the day! I
get the last of my lumber for my chicken house, and I watched your
directions on this enough, that I just know we can build one just like
yours. My son really liked it, and thought it was great how you showed what
was needed and why. I can finally get excited about having my own, It’s
been a long wait, but it’s finally here! I guess it took time for my son to
get “on board” and for Russell to be well enough 4 me 2 help 2.
That is really pretty. Almost too pretty for chickens! LOL I wish I could
have chickens at my house, but I live inside the city limits and they won’t
allow it.
They will actually lay more eggs in some cases. I often have too many
roosters, and they stress the hens out so much that they slow down in their
laying. If you don’t have roosters you won’t be able to hatch your eggs,
but you will get plenty of eating eggs.
brother no that’s what i call a chickin house, made with cedar you say man
that will last a long time- the one thing dad did for his a little
different was on the bottom of the box’s and right were the floor is under
neath he put chickin wire to mak it easy to clean he just swept everything
straight thrue the floor and from time to time he just raked out from under
the building to use what he wanted for plants — but i have to say your
carpentry skills are top notch………….
Whoa good buddy, is there anything ya don’t know how to do?!! An AWESOME
Chicken House made with quality material and some used and recycled
material,…but, chickens fly that high up,….this gives credence to my
granma, she was always complainin’ of the chickens flyin’ over a 8 to 10
ft. tall brick wall, in search of greener pastures, usually they got wooed
by the neighbor’s rooster! Thumbs up to ya mon!!
they should be quiete too right. I should be able to hide them better from
the neighbors.
Now I feel inspired to go build something! Love-ya.
You did a GREAT job with that chicken house! Thanks for sharing.

The decking is Pressure Treated, and I’m 50. So just doing the math, I’m
pretty sure that I’ll never have to deal with a rotted floor.
Looks real nice
You are a pretty good carpenter Sus.One of many skills looks like.
Agreed! … “These is a cool chicken house!” – Nice …

Looks like a pyramid, I like it

Nice place. Do your chickens need a roomate?

Very nice work!
It is a work of art.
Most of the lumber that I get for my projects comes from those dumpsters
near construction sites.
thats a really nice hen house, but how will you keep all the chicken poop
from rotting the floor?
nice man! how often will you need to clean the nest box? and how do you
clean it?
yeah lol ; )

Hiding hens isn’t easy, but hiding roosters is impossible.
Nice!
