@merlachner if you build them a nesting box where the eggs can gently roll
out to a secondary box they wont sit on something if it aint there :)

get some 14 gauge fence wire, surround the whole coupe, put wire about 3 to
4 inches apart and go up about 3 foot. Hook it up to good fence charger,
get a light to shine on the coupe, stay up at night and watch the fun.

it wouldn’t have to stand on that little plank, it could hang from the side
    or top

Hahaha let me have a go at em if I ever am up by your way. I am thinking of
doing a response video to this.

I’m subscribing now this is great stuff

I have been thinking of precisely that idea. With a trip wire. Also makes
great perimeter defense systems at your bug out location.

He springs the trap noisily sometimes and just sits there, watching me to
look out the window. He actually watches for my reaction. He is playing
with me. By the time I am flying out the door with the 12 ga, he is gone.
    Little monster is teasing me.

  8. Timothy Carey says:

They also sell solar powered night eyes thatll scare predators off

  9. The Do It Yourself World says:

Yeah, but a bloody mess of chicken guts scattered all over your hard is a
worse eyesore. This protects my chickens and it cost me nothing to make.

  10. Peter Flow says:

i think it’s good. don’t even bother with the nonconstructive criticism.
thank you for the videos. very informative.

  11. Timothy Carey says:

HAha. You know a 12 gauge shell fits perfectly into 1/2″ steel piping if I
remember right. You can make him a special trap lol

  12. Timothy Carey says:

Telling you get some traps. Trap at night.

  13. The Do It Yourself World says:

Thanks for the sub. Keep watching, lots more to come. I have more ideas
    than time.

  14. The Do It Yourself World says:

Chickens dont seem to be bothered by snakes. More like the other way
around. Chickens peck at anything that moves.

  15. The Do It Yourself World says:

Could do that. Hopefully a rigged gun could be dangerous to the coon.

  16. The Do It Yourself World says:

Had to think about what you said. Makes sense. I never heard of that
before. I could make them easily and with stuff I already have around.

  17. The Do It Yourself World says:

    Thanks, happy to entertain.

  18. merlachner says:

do you ever have a problem with the chickens being broody? how do you solve
    such problems? many thanks

  19. Luna Vega says:

    ewww, what an eyesore .

  20. The Do It Yourself World says:

    Thank you.

  21. The Do It Yourself World says:

Thanks for the great and kind words. Actually, I lost birds before I built
this. Never again. The coons could not get in. The idea is to show people
they do not need to be rich to survive in the wilds. Think I proved that
    point well enough.

  22. The Do It Yourself World says:

I have traps. Coons are smart. The biggest coon I ever saw keeps springing
the trap, then eating the bait. I keep trying tho. Could always rig up a
shotgun for him to trigger. That will get him.

  23. The Do It Yourself World says:

The fence on the top stopped him from ever hanging from it.

  24. The Do It Yourself World says:

I always left them to nest. Means more birds to raise/sell/give away. My
new landlord does the same, it seems. Sorry I couldnt help further.

  25. rc3291 says:

Just put a hasp and padlock on the door, he ain’t getting in without a key!
Rigging a shotgun could prove dangerous.
